LAKE CHARLES, La. - On Friday night, West Monroe, La. took on Lake Charles (La.) Barbe in a fourth-round playoff game. In the end it was West Monroe coming out on top with a 21-12 victory after its defense held Barbe's high-powered offense in check most of the evening.

Leading the way for the Rebel defense was a pair of defensive ends in Terrell Lathan and James McFarland. Though one-time TCU commit McFarland has received quite a bit of attention the 6-foot-5, 260-pound Lathan is a top prospect in his own right. Playing in a 3-4 front, he performed very well in the victory.
