Make it Four
TheRocketNation has learned that four prospects that were on official visits to Toledo this weekend have verbally committed to the University of Toledo.
Joining previously mentioned three star defensive tackle Allen Covington are three star wide receiver Corey Jones, safety Chaz Whittaker, and defensive tackle Orion Jones.
Corey Jones is a 5-9, 165 pound wide receiver from Penn Hills SHS in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Jones has been committed to Pittsburgh, but switched his commitment to Toledo this morning during his official visit with the Rockets. Jones has a 5.7 rating on Rivals.com, just one-tenth of a point from four stars. He has offers from Cincinnati, Kansas, Kent State, Maryland, Miami FL, Pittsburgh, Toledo and West Virginia. He is ranked as the 87th best wide receiver prospect in the country. Jones is the 2nd three star prospect in as many years to decommit from Pittsburgh to commit to Toledo. Justin Olack did the same last season.
Jones' Penn Hills teammate Chaz Whittaker has also committed to Toledo. Whittaker is rated 5.4 stars, which is one-tenth of a point away from a three star prospect. Whittaker had been committed to West Virginia before his visit to Toledo this weekend. The 6-3, 180 pound safety has offers from Pittsburgh, Temple, Toledo and West Virginia. Whittaker was also a very good wide receiver in high school.
Orion Jones is a 6-2, 270 pound defensive tackle from Jenks High School in Jenks, Oklahoma. Jones was recruited to Toledo by assistant coach Eli Rasheed.
