April 1, 2011Being the son of a college coach, Kevin Fouquier II was kind of born into football. The 6-foot-4, 210-pound athlete from Comeaux High School in Lafayette, La., has it in his blood. He lines up at quarterback, safety and linebacker for his high school team simply to get him on the field in position to make plays.
And make plays is exactly what he does.
Fouquier plays everywhere and that's the way he likes it.
"My position doesn't really matter to me," Fouquier said. "I just want to be on the field. All of the bigger schools are recruiting me as a linebacker. The smaller schools have all offered me as a quarterback."
The list of schools in contact with Fouquier is starting to grow as well.
"I am hearing from Mississippi State, Arkansas State, Texas A&M, Miami, LSU, UL, Notre Dame and Tennessee," Fouquier said. "I am interested in all of them, but especially the southern schools. I want to play close enough to home so my parents can make the drive to see me. And of course academics are very important as well. I take pride in my academics. Plus I don't mind redshirting if I need to."
One school Fouquier can't wait to see is Mississippi State.
"I really like Mississippi State," Fouquier said. "I have visited there before and it's a cool state. I like the fact that they are in the SEC. I want to play for a big time program and they are that. I really can't wait to get up to Starkville for camp and check them out."
