Bell talks SU offer

Brandon Bell of Mays Landing (N.J.) Oakcrest is closing in on double digit offers as we speak and one of his latest offers came from Syracuse University.

"Coach Tim Daoust gave me the offer and he said he really liked me," Bell said. "I was surprised that Syracuse offered me. My coach had told me they were interested and I had tried to get in touch with my recruiting coach, but every time I did he was busy and when he called me I couldn't talk. When I finally did get to talk with him he offered.

The 6-foot-2, 216 pound prospect does not know much about Syracuse, but there are is a couple items he does know.

"I do not know much about the school, but I know they do have a wonderful campus. As far as the football team goes I know they are on the rise."

A visit to Syracuse is very likely to happen, but it will take longer than the Syracuse coaches and Bell may want.

"My friend wants to check out Syracuse as well, so we are going to take a visit. I talked to Coach Daoust and he said they want me to come up and watch a practice. Right now I have a lot going on o it is hard, but I really want to get up there."

On Rivals.com Bell is listed as an inside linebacker and that is where Syracuse would like to keep him.

"They want me to play a pure middle linebacker the MIKE position calling the plays. They think I could be a leader on defense."

When it comes to a decision one is not expected soon as Bell will take his time and visit as many schools as he can.

"I definitely would like to decide before the end of the summer, but if that doesn't happen it will probably be during my season."
