2012 TE leaves VT with good impression
A junior tight end was amongst the 2012 prospects in attendance for the Hokies loss to James Madison. Even though Tech didn't win on the field, the 6-foot-3, 220-pounder was impressed by his visit.
"It was great," Roanoke (Va.) Northside 2012 tight end Dakota Jackson said. "I really enjoyed being in such an exciting atmosphere like Tech. It was really hyped and loud. Everybody was screaming and stuff it was fun.
"The whole trip was really nice. I'm planning to go back on Saturday to watch them again and hopefully it'll be a better turn out."
While on campus, Jackson met with a couple of Tech's coaches.
"I talked to two of them down near the locker room before the game," he said. "I talked to Coach Stinespring while they were out on the field warming up and Coach Beamer. Coach Beamer told me I was looking good this year and to keep up the hard work. It was overall a good trip, I really liked the trip to Tech."
Virginia Tech isn't the only school planning to get visits this fall.
"I'm going to go to Penn State sometime and also I might try to get to Virginia and work in a Duke game, but I don't know if they'll work with my schedule."
Meanwhile, a couple other schools are starting to show interest including Illinois and Stanford.
In three games this season, Jackson has six receptions.
