Versatile 2012 ATH wowed by first trip to VT

Virginia Tech had quite a few prospects on campus for their first win of the season on Saturday. A versatile 2012 recruit was one of those in attendance and came away impressed from his first visit to Blacksburg.

"It was nice, real nice," Portsmouth (Va.) Norcom wide receiver Isaac White said. "This was my first visit to any college. I never thought I would ever see it. I was surprised especially how the players acted, all of them talked about academics first. I talked to Davon Morgan and that was the first thing he asked me was how are your grades."

White joined his friend and 2011 Hokie pledge Dewayne Alford on the visit. While on campus, White checked out the facilities more.

"I saw most of the facilities and it was nice," he said. "Their locker room was real nice, they had this new lounge they built."

In addition, the Hampton Roads prospect got a bit of time with Coach Newsome and Frank Beamer too.

"Coach Newsome talked to me when I first arrived briefly," he said. "Then, I talked to Coach Beamer at the 50-yard line right before the game.

"That field is amazing with the atmosphere, it's so amazing. With all the people there, it was just great, the school pride and all that orange. It's exhilarating."

Overall White was impressed with his first trip and added a final thought on it.

"Man, that place is great, I can't say anything more than that."

White plans to head up to rival Virginia next month on October 30th. He has no other visits outside of that.

"I'm trying to go up with my friend Kam Mack."

So far this season, White has helped Norcom to a 3-0 start.
