Junior PA lineman has had busy fall

Junior Pennsylvania offensive lineman Tyler Alt has been very busy this fall.

Most of his focus has been on his junior season at Greensburg (Pa.) Central Catholic, but the 6-foot-3, 255-pound two-way lineman has also managed to check out several colleges he's hoping to hear more from over the course of the recruiting process.

"Tyler will be at the Penn State-Michigan game this weekend," said Dave Alt, Tyler's father. "He's already been to the Michigan-UConn game. He's been to a couple of games at Pitt ... Pitt-FIU and Pitt-Miami. He was at the Rutgers-Army game and he was at the Penn State-Illinois game. We were also at the Duke-Alabama game.

"He likes all of them. He was real impressed with Duke even though they didn't do real well against Alabama. He was impressed with how the coaches handled the players, and of course he was impressed with the campus and the atmosphere.

"He was impressed with Michigan. He got to walk out of the tunnel at Michigan with 115,000 people yelling at them. Penn State was pretty awesome, too. He went up there with his mother and I'm taking him up there this week."

Alt's upcoming trip to Penn State won't be his list unofficial visit of the ball. On November 6 he will be at Purdue and on November 13 he will probably make the trip to Florida State.

Alt's father said his performed well at the camps he attended over the summer but many colleges want to see film of his junior season. He has been playing on the offensive line this year, while in the past he had played defensive end. They recently started sending out their film last week and are hoping to hear back from schools in the near future.
