Smallwood looking forward to SU

In the middle of June Tyree Smallwood joined the Orange list of 2011 commitments. Now nearly five months after his verbal commitment Smallwood still remains high on the Orange.

"They are having a really good season a really good season. They have had some nice wins like West Virginia and Cincinnati."

Smallwood, 6-foot-0, 170 pounds has not been surprised by how the Orange have started out this season. In fact the coaches told him to expect this and he trusted what they had to say.

"The coaches told me that they were going to have a good season. That is what the coaches told me and I trust them."

As of right now the Empire State product does not have a position picked out for when he gets to college so when he watches a game he is focused on a few different positions.

"I do not have a position set for me yet," Smallwood said. "When I watch a game I look at the running backs, wide receivers, and the secondary. I keep an eye on those positions to see how I could help."

An official visit to Syracuse has not been taking yet, but when he gets on campus for that visit he has a few items he will be looking for.

"I just want to meet all of the coaches and meet the people I will be playing with."

When Smallwood picked the Orange he had a handful of offers and there were a few other schools showing a lot of interest. Since he picked the Orange the interest has continued, but no other attempts have been able to change his mind.

"I am set with Syracuse I don't want to go anywhere else."

This season Smallwood has had a solid season as he has helped lead his team to the playoffs.

"My football season has been going well. I am doing fine I have about 14 touchdowns and 900 yards."
