Busy spring, summer ahead for Memphis defensive end

Chase Robison grew up with split loyalties.

So it should come as no surprise that the 6-foot-4, 215-pound defensive end from Memphis (Christian Brothers), Tenn., is giving both Ole Miss and Arkansas long, hard looks.

However, Robison isn't limiting his recruiting to the Razorbacks and the Rebels. Others are interested, and he's planning to reciprocate that interest over the next few months.

Robison visited Ole Miss for its first junior day late last month. The trip to Oxford, Robison said, "went good."

"I met my position coach (Terry Price) and he seemed like a good guy," Robison said. "We just kind of went through and they showed us their facilities and stuff. …They've asked me for film and I brought my film to the junior day."

In addition to Ole Miss, Texas Tech, Alabama and Mississippi State have all invited Robison to their junior days. Robison said he is planning to check out Mississippi State, Alabama, Arkansas, Texas Tech, Memphis and Bowling Green in the coming months.

"Texas Tech flew down their position coach and he said he wouldn't be surprised if I got an offer in June at their camp," Robison said. "He said (Texas Tech) Coach (Tommy) Tuberville was high on me. I feel like Arkansas has been talking to me a lot.

"I really like Arkansas and I've grown up going to Ole Miss football games. I grew up in the Grove and watching them. I love Ole Miss and half my family went to Arkansas. I love both of those schools."

Robison said he plans to camp at Texas Tech, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, South Alabama, Bowling Green and Arkansas this summer. He said he believes all of those schools are looking at him as a defensive end.

"From what I've heard, they like me as a pass-rush end," Robison said. "I can play linebacker, but they like the way I pass-rush better. I'm more natural with my hand on the ground rushing the quarterback."
