I'm going to be a Bulldog ... I can't believe it

Chester Brown said he was 95.99 percent sure he was going to commit to Georgia following his offer Friday at Dawg Night.

Tuesday, the 2012 offensive lineman made it official, giving head coach Mark Richt his verbal commitment, the 12th for Georgia thus far.

" ," said Brown. " "

It didn't take Brown long to decide.

The 6-foot-5, 333-pounder was given his offer Friday night, but wanted to talk with his parents before giving Richt the final word.

He's Georgia's 12 verbal commitment for 2012 and the second offensive lineman to commit to the Bulldogs after five-star performer John Theus pledged to Georgia Friday night.

Brown - who previously only held offers from Georgia State and South Alabama - said he was overwhelmed to get an offer from the Bulldogs.

"This is what my parents, my uncle, my family have waited for," said Brown. "The first thing I did was thank God. For them to offer me a full ride - I could not believe it. I was shocked. I broke down in tears when they told me."

A relative newcomer to the sport, Brown only began playing the sport his freshman year at Bradwell after his family - who hails from Samoa - moved to Hinesville from California.

Friday's Dawg Night was the first camp he ever attended.

"Most of the players here have been coming to camps like this since their sophomore and junior years," said Brown, whose other two offers are from Georgia State and South Alabama. "This is my senior year and I'm just starting to be recruited and looked at. It's a big change."

Considering it was his first camp going against highly-regarded recruits, Brown believes he handled himself well.

"I think when the coaches first saw me, they just saw me as a big dude but when I started to run, they said I didn't look like I weighed 333, more like 250," said Brown, who worked extensively at right guard. "They said I had pretty quick feet which is what I was aiming for."
