Reeves-Maybin enjoying the attention

Clarksville, Tenn., athlete Jalen Reeves-Maybin knew if he continued to work hard college coaches would take notice.

The one thing the 6-foot-1, 210-pounder did not plan on was it happening so soon. Reeves-Maybin has already landed five scholarship offers including three from the Southeastern Conference.

"I kind of figured it would all start to come around eventually if I worked hard," Reeves-Maybin said. "I didn't think it would happen this fast. You don't really realize you're in it until you sit back and think about it. I didn't expect it to happen like this."

So far, Reeves-Maybin has landed offers from Austin Peay, Duke, Mississippi State, Tennessee and Vanderbilt.

He has enjoyed the process so far and has appreciated the opportunity to visit with a variety of coaches of late.

"It's going pretty good," Reeves-Maybin said. "There's been a lot of schools coming through. It's been good to meet all the different coaches and see what all types of programs are like. It's been fun."

Reeves-Maybin himself has been traveling taking in junior days at Tennessee and Vanderbilt. He is also planning to visit Louisville this weekend as well as stops at Mississippi State, Georgia Tech and Duke still to come.
