Freeman moves up board

Coming into the Big Dawg Camp, Wil Freeman didn't know exactly where he stood with the Mississippi State coaches. Since the camp has ended, Freeman feels like he has a very good idea and feels a lot better about his situation with the Bulldogs.

Freeman has spent July attending several camps in hopes of getting coaches attention. One school has offered Freeman to date and several more are close.

"I have an offer from Louisiana-Lafayette," Freeman said. "I have also been to camp at UAB, Southern Miss, Louisiana Tech, and Mississippi State. Most coaches are wanting to come see me live and said that would lead to an offer."

Freeman was blown away by the competition level he faced at the Big Dawg Camp. He said it was by far the best he has seen at any camp and made him a better player.

"Man the competition level was unreal," Freeman said. "The offensive line was amazing. Devon Desper plays in my district and he was there and we always have some good battles. The defensive line talent was ridiculous. The defensive tackles were all so big and so fast. And all of the defensive ends were crazy fast. It was an unreal display of talent."

Freeman got a chance to call and talk to the Bulldogs defensive coordinator Chris Wilson recently and came away very impressed. Wilson left Freeman feeling like he has a chance with MSU.

"Coach Wilson said after the Big Dawg Camp that I for sure moved up their board," Freeman said. "He said once the season start he is going to come down to Northwest (Rankin) and watch me play in person. I can't wait for the season to start so I can show the world what I have."
