Walley focusing on football
Gus Walley of Greene County (Miss.) gave Mississippi State his verbal commitment. It was a day that the Walley family celebrated and considered a dream come true. With that big day behind him, Walley has turned his attention to his senior season and making the Wildcats the best they can be.A few weeks back,
Several schools got a taste of Friday nights this past weekend. Walley and his Greene County team faced Northeast Jones in the season's kickoff jamboree. This Friday marks the start of the high school season and Walley can't wait.
"We played Northeast Jones in our Jamboree," Walley said. "We made two big mistakes and they were able to capitalize on them. Friday we kickoff our season against Perry Central. We watched film on them (Sunday). We are going to play a very fast paced, up-tempo game. I think we will wear them down and come out with the win."
Since Walley has committed to MSU, he is happy to report that things have slowed down for him. Getting to tell Dan Mullen he wanted to be a Bulldog was a dream come true for Walley and a decision he will never regret.
"I havent received anymore mail or calls or anything," Walley said. "It just feels so good to know that I am a Bulldog and all that recruiting is behind me. I liked the attention but it can get kind of overwhelming at times. I am going to be playing tight end and a type of slot running back type position. I can't wait to get up there. I plan on going to every home game except LSU. We have a road game that Friday so I cant make that one but I will be a regular at the rest of them."
