Quarterback looks to visit

Josh Dobbs was one of the top quarterbacks at the recent Dallas Elite 11 so it looks like Boston College has jumped out early on a talented 2013 quarterback.

The Eagles were the first to offer the Alpharetta, Ga., quarterback and he said there are preliminary plans to get up to Chestnut Hill soon.

Dobbs, who threw for 3,113 yards with 29 touchdowns and 15 interceptions in his junior season, said he would like to see the Boston College campus and the coaching staff sooner rather than later.

Rivals.com rates him as a three-star prospect.

"We're talking weekly and I'm getting all the updates," Dobbs said. "We've talked about their spring practice and how it's going. We've talked about how baseball is going with me so we're definitely staying in touch.

"I'm definitely trying to get up there as soon as possible. We have a trip planned sometime soon. We're trying to get up there quickly to see the campus and to meet the entire coaching staff in person."

Things are heating up for Dobbs as Illinois has offered in recent days as well. So far, Boston College and Illinois have offered and so the Georgia prospect is taking his time to see which other programs get involved.

"I got a chance to talk with the coaches (at Illinois)," Dobbs said. "I am supposed to talk with the head coach so I'll give him a call pretty soon."

Other than Boston College and Illinois, Dobbs said he's starting to hear more from Mississippi State and some other schools.

The Eagles are definitely one of the early favorites but with more exposure coming from his performance at the Dallas Elite 11, it looks like Dobbs could be getting many more looks in the coming months.
