Syracuse added depth to its receiver group on Monday, picking up a commitment from IMG Academy (FL) wide receiver Nicholas Armentano.

If the Orange is trying to be the new fast, then Armentano has plenty of it. The 5-foot-8, 176-pound speedster runs a 4.4 in the 40M.

"I am a crafty and quick receiver," Armentano said to The Juice Online. "I am versatile, can play in slot or outside. I have good hands and will lay out for any ball that comes my way."

Armentano will be on the Syracuse campus to visit on Thursday, and will be back to start fall camp on June 1.

The PWO is willing to do whatever it takes to help SU win.

"I will be going in as a receiver but will play any position the coaches want me," Armentano said. "Whether that’s on special teams, offense, defense. It doesn’t matter."

Armentano played high school ball at Staples High (CT) and went on to play in a post-graduate year at IMG Academy. It is the same program that produced another commitment, offensive lineman Ted Olsen, who joined SU in April as a PWO.

Armentano added that Syracuse is the 'perfect fit' for what he wants in a college.

"It’s in a great conference in the ACC, it’s close and far enough away from home," he said. "I have a lot of close friends who are students and the program is elite."
