A lot has changed for defensive lineman Zyir Daniel since he visited Syracuse in June.

For starters, Daniel reclassified to 2024 and has shifted schools to St. Thomas More School (CT). He's also added significant strength and size.

Daniel will be visiting Syracuse for a second time on April 7, he tells The Juice Online, and will be looking to earn an offer while on campus.

"I am looking to seeing some of the coaches I met from camp last year and build on the relationship," Daniel said. "I felt I connected well with Coach (Chris) Achuff since I performed very well at camp last year. Also, I would like to see more of the facility and campus since I didn’t get to see it last time."

The staff may not recognize him.

"My size," Daniel said when asked about the biggest difference from June until present. "I am currently at 250 pounds and plan on gaining another 5-10 pounds of muscle. I think I was around 230 at camp (at Syracuse). I’ve also improved my hands and my lateral quickness."

Daniel visited West Virginia earlier in the year, and is planning visits to Virginia, Pitt, James Madison and UConn.

Daniel attended Calvert Hall (MD) throughout high school, the same school that produced Orange running back Sean Tucker.

But Daniel is now taking his talents to New England in hopes of taking his game to the next level.

"I visited the school a few months back and really liked the school and the campus," Daniel said. "Also, the head coach has been very supportive and reaches out to me frequently. I like the educational aspect which will continue prepping me for college. Also, I like their scheme, which I feel plays within my skill set."
