2025 wide receiver Michael Thomas III had been waiting for this moment for quite some time.

Syracuse tight ends coach Nunzio Campanile was by Donovan Catholic High (NJ) and came down to speak to Thomas.

"We've had our eye on you for a while," Campanile said to Thomas. "You're an amazing player and a lot of coaches are talking about you."

Shortly after, Campanile extended the offer to Thomas.

"I've been waiting for an offer for a while from Syracuse," Thomas said.

The Sayreville, New Jersey native visited Central New York in September for its matchup against Purdue last year, and came away with a great impression of the school and specifically the JMA Wireless Dome atmosphere.

"The stadium is amazing," Thomas said. "The atmosphere is crazy. I couldn't even hear myself think. I couldn't hear myself talk."

A lot has happened to Thomas since then. The 6-foot-1, 183-pound athlete finished his sophomore season with 43 catches, a team-high 544 yards and four touchdowns.

He's also piled on the offers, and it's now in double-digits, including from Penn State, Rutgers and Pitt. Those schools are the three standing out to Thomas at the moment.

"It's a blessing," Thomas said. "I never thought I could be that blown up in football. I never thought I would be this highly recognized or be in this position right now."

He had this to say about each of his top schools:

Penn State: "I really like Penn State. You really can't go wrong with an offer like that."

Pittsburgh: "I like Pitt. I like coach (Tiquan) Underwood. He's an amazing person. He's like me, but just an older version. I would be him if I was a coach."

Rutgers: "It's close to home. (Greg) Schiano is a great coach. I've heard so many great things about him. The new wide receivers coach (Dave Brock), he coached Julio Jones. I mean Julio Jones? He's a dog."

Thomas also added he will definitely visit Syracuse again before making a decision.

"I really want to go back to a game," Thomas said. "I want to experience that atmosphere one more time. It's amazing over there. I can't believe I'm saying this, but in terms of atmosphere, Syracuse is better than Penn State. Their fans are amazing. They were screaming. It was crazy."
