Catching up with Lepak

It is almost the halfway point of the recruiting season and the Syracuse Orange are waiting for commitments to start picking up and one of the players that the Orange coaches and fans hope pulls the trigger is hometown offensive linemen Nick Lepak. The three star prospect recently took part in the Orange football camp but he did not give a verbal pledge while at camp.
Lepak enjoyed the camp and one part of the camp that was big for him was getting the chance to work out with the new offensive line Coach Chris Wiesehan.
"The camp at Syracuse went well." Lepak said, "Working with Coach Wiesehan went really well he really knows his stuff."
While in high school and college Coach Wiesehan was a wide receiver during his playing days and he earned All-American honors as a receiver at Wabash College. Some players at first may be skeptical of a coach that has never played the position and in this case that is not true as Lepak was very impressed with Wiesehan.
"He might have not played the position, but He really knew what he was doing it was great."
The competition at the camp was solid and it was performing well against the solid players that made him think he performed fine at the camp.
"It was good there were a lot of real good guys there, I think I performed well at the camp."
During camp it opened the big offensive linemen's eyes to what he does well and what he needs to work hard on.
"I thought I did real well in my pass blocking and when we did one on ones I think I did well." Lepak said, "What I need to work on is probably my speed and footwork."
While on the Orange campus for a few days Lepak could not escape with out talking to Head Coach Greg Robinson.
"I talked with Coach Robinson here and there and we talked about me playing for Syracuse."
A commitment is being thought about but Lepak is not ready at this time to make any decision.
"I have been thinking about a commitment but nothing to deep."
