JUCO RB JJ Branham commits to Syracuse

Blinn College running back JJ Branham committed to Syracuse on Monday evening, he announced on social media.

Branham led the Buccaneers with 648 rushing yards and seven touchdowns in nine games and was named First Team All Southwest Junior College Football Conference (NJCAA).

Branham was a Rivals three-star prospect in the 2019 cycle out of Northland High in Ohio, and held offers from Pittsburgh, Akron, Boston College, Cincinnati and Duquesne, among others, before committing to Eastern Michigan.

As a senior at Northland (OH) High, he rushed for 2,013 yards on 155 carries, had 12 receptions for 160 yards, and scored 32 touchdowns as the Vikings went 8-2.

He has two years of eligibility remaining.

Running back became a position of need recently, with presumptive starter LeQuint Allen suspended for the 2023 season following an incident that occurred in December. That decision is currently being litigated.
