Syracuse freshman guard Judah Mintz will return to Central New York for his sophomore season, he announced on social media on Wednesday evening.

Mintz declared for the NBA Draft after Syracuse's 17-15 season, the last of the Jim Boeheim era.

The NBA required players who entered the draft process to return to school by midnight on May 31 in order to retain college eligibility. Mintz participated in the NBA Combine from May 15-19 in Chicago.

He was named to the All-ACC Rookie Team after averaging 16.3 ppg and 4.6 apg, while shooting 44.3 percent from the field.

The return of Mintz is another win for first-year head coach Red Autry, who has also bolstered his backcourt with the incoming transfers of Chance Westry (Auburn), JJ Starling (Notre Dame) and Kyle Cuffe Jr. (Kansas).

The move also provides some continuity for the Orange, who saw starting center Jesse Edwards (West Virginia) and shooting guard Joe Girard (Clemson) depart in the transfer portal.
