Podcast: JJ Branham discusses Syracuse commitment

Blinn College transfer JJ Branham became the latest member of the 2023 Syracuse team in earlier July.

Branham led the Buccaneers with 648 rushing yards and seven touchdowns in nine games and was named First Team All Southwest Junior College Football Conference (NJCAA).

Branham was a Rivals three-star prospect in the 2019 cycle out of Northland High in Ohio and committed to Eastern Michigan, playing there for a season before leaving college football for two years.

I spoke with Branham on this week's The Juice on the Cuse Podcast, presented by Rivals.com, and we talked about his journey to Syracuse, which included a short period of homelessness, what inspired him to get back on the field after a two-year hiatus, and why he picked the Orange.

Afterward, associate editor Jim Stechschulte calls in to discuss Boeheim's Army and their return to the TBT. They won in 2021, and Jim breaks down what made that team a special team, and why this year's edition has the potential to be special as well.
