RAPID REACTION

In just under two weeks of taking over his head coach of Syracuse, Adrian Autry is already seen four transactions with his roster.

Leaving are big man, John Bol Ajak and guard Symir Torrance, and coming in is guard JJ Starling from the transfer portal.

The big news this week that was another departure, freshman guard Judah Mintz, who on Monday declared that he’s going to make himself eligible for the NBA draft, but retain his collegiate eligibility by having the option to return to college by the NBA deadline in June.

It's a great move as he’s going to find out talking to scouts and other NBA front office personnel exactly what his game needs in terms of improvement. If everything stays the same, and he projects as an NBA second round pick, if he decides to come back and has a stellar sophomore season, he could easily elevate his draft status into the first round of the 2024 NBA Draft.

That is a difference of millions of dollars in terms of the NBA salary guidelines.

Syracuse fans will need to wait for the chronological order NBA players that are underclassmen.

Players have to declare by April 23 for the draft and May 16 is the NBA draft lottery. June 12 is the big day that players that had declared eligibility for the NBA must decide if they’re going to stay keep their name in the draft or go back to college.

Then, the NBA draft this year is on June 22 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

If Mintz decides to come back, hopefully he get some money in the name, image, and likeness a collective that Syracuse has, and then have a stellar sophomore year to go back into the NBA Draft in 2024.
