The Syracuse Orange football staff continue to do it’s homework on some of the top quarterback prospects in the class of 2019. The staff is set to welcome one of the top quarterbacks from Texas to campus this upcoming weekend.

Class of 2019 QB Sam Saxton is set to visit campus on June 17th to throw in front of the staff and get a better feel for the campus up at Syracuse.

Cuse Confidential spoke with the class of 2019 quarterback recruit to see what Syracuse has been saying to him lately.

“Syracuse has been talking to me a lot lately,” Saxton told CuseConfidential. “They’ve been saying that they really like me and believe that I’m offer-able type of quarterback. They just want to see me in person throwing.”

The 5.5, three-star prospect is eager to visit campus and is looking forward to check out a couple of different things.

“I’m excited to see what Syracuse has to offer,” said Saxton. “More than anything I’m just looking forward to going up there and showing the coaching staff what I have to offer. Hopefully I land an offer from them.”

At the moment Saxton holds 13 different scholarship offers, but only one from a power five school in Rutgers. From the sound of it, appears that Syracuse might throw their hat in the ring real soon.

“An offer from Syracuse is an offer that just about anyone should extremely consider,” Saxton mentioned. “Syracuse is a very storied program, pioneering football players such as Jim Brown and Ernie Davis came out of there. It would only be an honor to add to that legacy that they’ve already created.”

At the moment Saxton doesn’t have any other visits planned, but is also hoping to get out to New Mexico real soon.
