Several projections have Syracuse playing in Birmingham Bowl
Syracuse finished the 2023 regular season 6-6 after a 35-31 win over Wake Forest on Saturday afternoon. The Orange will find out its bowl destination following championship Saturday on Dec. 2.
In the meantime, I sampled eight projections from major media publications, and they are scattered across the board. Three publications center around the Orange playing in the Birmingham Bowl at Protective Stadium on Saturday, Dec. 23 at noon on ABC.
The publications are split as to Syracuse's opponent.
Birmingham Bowl
• The Sporting News: Coastal Carolina
• Athlon Sports: South Alabama
• Fox Sports: Louisiana
Two of the publications have Syracuse playing in the Armed Forces Bowl on Dec. 23 in Fort Worth, TX.
Armed Forces Bowl
• ESPN (Bonagura): Kansas
• Action Network: West Virginia
The remaining three projections have Syracuse playing in separate bowls:
• Gasparilla Bowl: CBS Sports: South Alabama
• Boca Raton Bowl: College Football News: Coastal Carolina
• First Responder Bowl: ESPN (Schlabach): USF
