The NBA regular season has wrapped up, and teams are either gearing up for the playoffs or gearing up for next season. What has that meant for the former Syracuse players in the league?

Buddy Boeheim - Detroit Pistons

It was March. So, Buddy Boeheim harkened back to his Syracuse days to raise his level of play. Boeheim appeared in just one game for the first five months of the season, a single minute in an October loss to the New York Knicks.

But in March and April, he played in 9 games, with a season-best 8 points in 23 minutes on March 14 against Washington. For the season, Boeheim averaged 1.6 ppg on 18.5 percent shooting from the field.

Oshae Brissett - Indiana Pacers

Indiana took its foot off the gas towards the end of this season, resting key players and giving more opportunities to the younger guys on the roster to see what they can do. Brissett fits somewhere in between those two categories, but has seen his opportunities rise just a bit.

He averaged a little over 18 minutes a game in March and April, and finished ths season with 12 points and 9 rebounds in a 141-136 win over the Knicks on Sunday. For the year, Brissett averaged 6.1 ppg on 38.6 percent shooting from the field.

Michael Carter-Williams - Orlando Magic

On Feb. 26, the Orlando Magic signed Carter-Williams to a two-year deal. He saw his first game action on April 2, scoring one point in two minutes. He would go on to appear in three more games for the Magic, and finished with 4.3 ppg and 1.8 apg in four appearances.

Orlando remains one of the most improved teams in the league, already totaling 12 more wins than all of last season with four games remaining. As the young roster continues to gel, it is unknown whether there will be a roster spot next season for Carter-Williams.

Jerami Grant - Portland Trail Blazers

With 9 losses in their last 10 games, the Portland Trail Blazers fell out of playoff contention. Consequently, they have chosen to rest many of their regulars for the rest of the season, Grant among them.

Grant last played on March 12 against New Orleans, and ended the year averaging 20.5 points per game, the second best average of his career. Grant will become an unrestricted free agent this summer and will be one of the more highly-sought after players on the market.

Cole Swider - Los Angles Lakers

Swider is the one former Syracuse player whose team will be in the playoffs. The Los Angeles Lakers finished in seventh in the Western Conference, and will be in the play-in game.

The Lakers finished the season by winning six of their last seven, and are playing the best basketball of their season. Unfortunately, that has mostly not included Swider, who only saw the floor for one minute (an season ending win over Utah on Sunday), since Feb. 9.
