Game: The Orange had a bye.
Takeaway: Syracuse will have to see if its onslaught of offense stays on pace with a return to a higher level of competition. The Orange has posted 50 or more points in its past two games, something that hasn't happened since 1997.
The Orange received a boost on special teams with a pair of blocked punts and blocked field goal in the most-recent outing against Tulane.
Syracuse needed the good vibes after a rough start to the season with losses to two Big Ten Conference teams. The Orange also must be aware that defeating Wagner and Tulane doesn't necessarily mean it has arrived at the level it will take in the ACC's Atlantic Division.
Now comes the ACC debut and it figures to be an important situation for Syracuse as it embarks on a new conference experience. It comes with a high-profile opponent, and there will be lots of orange in the Carrier Dome with Clemson visiting.
The Orange has won its last six games in the Carrier Dome dating to last season.
Next: vs. Clemson, Oct. 5
