Will to Win will premiere March 29 at the Landmark Theatre in Syracuse

April 7, 2003 is a date that will live in Syracuse lore forever.

On that day, Syracuse defeated Kansas, 81-78, to capture its first NCAA men's basketball championship.

20 years later, the Post-Standard/Syracuse.com is commemorating the event by releasing "Will to Win," a documentary made by lead reporter Mike Waters. It will debut on Wednesday, March 29 at 7 p.m. at the Landmark Theatre in Syracuse. Tickets for the event can be purchased here.

We spoke with Mike on this week's The Juice on the Cuse Podcast, presented by Rivals.com to go inside the production of the film. Mike talks about the impetus to the documentary, the challenges he faced, and some of the most interesting stories recounted during the documentary.

One of the players interviewed for the film is guard Andrew Kouwe, a frequent contributor to The Juice Online. Andrew comes on afterward to talk about Jim Boeheim's retirement, the March 4, 2023 celebration of the team, and his favorite stories from the 2003 season.
