Former Syracuse quarterback Zack Mahoney is excited about the direction of the SU program under new head coach Fran Brown. Mahoney joined us on today's Juice on the Cuse Podcast, presented by Bleav and Rivals to discuss his Syracuse playing days, his thoughts on the new coaching staff, and what he's doing in his post-playing career.
Mahoney appeared in 25 games for the Orange from 2015-17, and started nine games under center, throwing for 1,949 yards and 18 touchdowns. Brown invited all football alums to come back to campus in the spring for practice, and Mahoney plans on taking him up on his offer if his schedule allows.
"I'd love to. Coming back to campus and being around the facitility is something I always enjoy doing. I still stop by to see people. If I have the opportunity, I absolutely will."
We also discuss Syracuse basketball's 87-83 win over NC State on Tuesday evening at PNC Arena. It was just the third road win of the season for the Orange and, for the time being, just the third Quadrant 1 win with the Wolfpack being ranked 75th in NET (a Q1 win is awarded for a road win against a top 75 NET team).
Quadir Copeland scored a career-high 25 points and Chris Bell nailed eight 3-pointers in the first half to propel Syracuse to the win, which kept their faint NCAA hopes alive heading into the final four games of the season.
