Syracuse Recruiting Roundup: May 22, 2023
Lots to talk about in this week's recruiting roundup with the Orange handing out several offers and the 2023 Rivals Camp Series just having wrapped up in New Jersey. Also, several committed and uncommitted Syracuse prospects announced they be on campus on the June 9 weekend for official visits.
We start with 2024 Zekai Wimberly, who announced on Friday he will officially visit Syracuse on June 9. Wimberly is one of the top New Jersey prospects in this cycle, and holds an offer sheet that includes Ole Miss, Towson, Temple, Maine, Monmouth and Sacred Heart. Our Charles Kang spoke with him about his OV.
Joining Wimberly on campus will be Syracuse commits Trashon and Travon Dye. They committed in March and both said they will be recruiting other players who are there on the same weekend. Both Dye brothers spoke with our Charles Kang about their June 9 OV.
One of Syracuse's top prospects on their 2024 board will be there as well. Four-star Long Beach (CA) Poly wide receiver Jason Robinson Jr. named Syracuse as one of his top 10 schools, and he chatted with our Charles Kang to preview the visit.
Another prospect at the top of SU's board is Michigan City (IN) High running back Jaden Hart. The Rivals three-star prospect holds offers from Duke, Kentucky, Boston College and Syracuse, among others, and will get a closer look at the Orange on an official visit on the weekend of June 9, he says to our Charles Kang.
Moving away from the official visits and on to offers, 2026 ATH Kyshawn Robinson received a Syracuse offer last week. Other high-majors to have offered the freshman include Pittsburgh, West Virginia and Nebraska. Robinson spoke with our Charles Kang about the latest on his recruitment.
2024 defensive lineman Chukwunedu Okeke has been one of the most sought after prospects in Georgia since the calendar turned to 2023. Since January, he's picked up 11 offers, including from Charlotte, Western Kentucky, Syracuse and Maryland. Our Charles Kang spoke to Okeke about his Orange offer.
2025 ATH (EDGE/defensive end) Adam Shovlin is one of the top prospects in his class. Shovlin has hauled in a large group of high-major offers, and Syracuse was one of the schools to offer him recently. He spoke with our Charles Kang to give his thoughts on the SU offer.
One of the most coveted defensive linemen in the 2025 class is Rock Creek Christian's (MD) Nahsir Taylor. The Rivals three-star athlete picked up an offer from Syracuse last week adding to an impressive double-digit offer list. He spoke with our Charles Kang about the offer.
2025 defensive back Terron Johnson received his first offer from Syracuse last week, and the Iona Prep (NY) star spoke to our Charles Kang about the news. Johnson was a key part of Iona Prep going 9-3 overall and 6-1 in Catholic AAA league play.
Georgia defensive back Dorian Barney is one of the top 2026 prospects in the country. The Peachtree Ridge (GA) prospect already boasts double-digit offers, including from high-majors Syracuse, South Carolina, Indiana and Virginia Tech. Our Charles Kang caught up with him to discuss his recruitment.
2024 ATH Darius Wallace is one of the fastest rising prospects in his class. In mid-April, Wallace picked up his first offer from Air Force. Last week, he received his first Power 5 offer from Syracuse. Wallace spoke about his SU offer with our Charles Kang.
