Syracuse to match up with USF in Boca Raton Bowl
Syracuse will play in the RoofClaim.com Boca Raton Bowl against South Florida on Thursday, Dec. 21 in Boca Raton, FL, the school announced on Sunday evening.
It will be aired at 8 p.m. (ET) on ESPN.
It will be a rematch of two former Big East schools who have faced each other 10 times in school history.
The Bulls, like Syracuse, needed to win its final game to achieve bowl eligibility. They did that by defeating Charlotte, 48-14, to get to 6-6 and 4-4 record in the American Athletic Conference.
Syracuse defeated Wake Forest, 35-31, in its regular season finale to finish 6-6 (2-6 ACC).
It is the 28th time SU will appear in a bowl game, where they own a 16-10-1 record. The Orange last appeared in the Pinstripe Bowl last year, where they were defeated by Minnesota.
