2024 S Michael Matthews-Canty commits to Syracuse

2024 safety Michael Matthews-Canty committed to Syracuse, he announced on social media.

Matthew-Canty selected the Orange over offers from Morgan State, Temple, Liberty and Charlotte, among others.

"I love everybody," Matthews-Canty said in a previous interview about the Orange to The Juice Online. "I love the coaches, the atmosphere. Definitely a good school."

He was offered by the Orange in May, and built a strong relationship with Syracuse safeties/rovers coach Darrell Perkins.

"I talk to coach Perkins everyday," Matthews-Canty said. "I would say we have a good relationship he’s talked to my family. They like him."

Matthews took an official visit to Syracuse earlier in June, and set his announcement date shortly after.

Matthews-Canty joins Jakhari Williams, Jayden Brown, Braheem Long, Brendan Zurbrugg, Jamie Tremble, Clinton Robinson, Jaden Hart, Zekai Wimberly, David McMorris, Trashon Dye, Travon Dye, Tristen Graham and Noah Rosahac as commitments in Syracuse's 2024 class.
