Auburn transfer Chance Westry commits to Syracuse
Auburn transfer guard Chance Westry committed Syracuse on Monday afternoon, according to multiple reports.
He becomes the second recruit to commit to Syracuse head coach Red Autry after Jim Boeheim retired after a 47-year coaching career. He appeared in 11 games for the Tigers last season and averaged 2.5 ppg and 1.0 apg before redshirting.
"I believe in what Coach Autry is building," Westry said to ESPN's Jonathan Givony. He and his staff sold me on their level of commitment to helping me develop into the player I want to be. He knows that I'm coming in ready to work and hopefully help us get to the tournament and make a run."
Westry was a Rivals four-star recruit and was ranked 36th in the 2022 class. Syracuse had heavily recruited Westry before he signed with Auburn.
