Report: Khalil Ahmad to return to Syracuse coaching staff

Syracuse will hire recruiting staffer Khalil Ahmad as executive director of personnel and recruiting, according to a report from 247 Sports. A source also confirmed the hire to Rivals.

He was the recruiting coordinator for personnel and recruitment at Penn State, and is familiar with the Orange, having served as director of high school relations under the recently fired Dino Babers.

"Thank you to the entire PSU and State College community for welcoming me with warm arms," Ahmad said on social media. "Happy Valley is a special place. Thank you to Coach Franklin for the guidance, mentorship, and knowledge in my time here. - working for you has been an honor."

Brown and Ahmad worked together on the staff at Rutgers, where Ahmad was known to have deep ties to the New Jersey recruiting scene.

Ahmad previously coached at the high school level at New Jersey’s Patterson Eastside.

Syracuse has added several staffers in the last week, including defensive coordinator Elijah Robinson, assistant wide receivers coach Devin Redd and defensive line coach Nick Williams.
