Syracuse guard Joe Girard announced on Sunday afternoon he has committed to Clemson over finalist LSU.

Girard led Syracuse in scoring in his senior season, averaging 16.4 ppg to go with 3.0 apg. He shot 40.3 percent from the field, a career high, and 38.1 percent from beyond the arc.

Girard has one year of eligibility left despite playing four seasons because the NCAA offered an extra year of eligibility as a result of the COVID pandemic.

In March, Girard announced he was entering the transfer portal and also going through the NBA Draft evaluation process.

"I want to express my utmost gratitude to my family, Coach (Jim) Boeheim and Orange Nation for the past four seasons," Girard said in a statement. "Thank you to every fan and supporter who has impacted me in a positive manner and helped shape who I am today."

Clemson finished the 2022-23 season 23-11 and 14-6 in ACC play, but missed the NCAA Tournament. They were eliminated in the first round of the NIT by Morehead State.
