2025 OL Matthew Hawn commits to Syracuse

Syracuse (NY) Christian Brothers Academy ATH Matthew Hawn is the latest member of the Orange's 2025 class.

“A culmination of a lot of things,” Hawn said to The Juice Online. “Staff, intensity, academics, close to home, and bright future. All key factors.”

Hawn selected SU over offers from Pittsburgh, Boston College and Temple, among others, and becomes the second CBA prospect to commit, joining wide receiver Darien Williams.

Hawn received an offer from the new Orange staff led by Fran Brown in January.

He led his team to a 14-0 record and the New York AA State Championship. Hawn also allowed zero sacks on the year and recorded 50+ pancakes.

Hawn plays both offensive and defensive line at CBA, but projects more as an offensive lineman at the next level.

"I believe I am a very technical offensive linemen," Hawn said in a previous interview. "I spend hours a week, not only in the weight room, but also working on footwork, fundamentals, and speed training to be as technically proficient as I can.
