There is a lot that separates Adam Hearns from most quarterbacks at the prep level. According to his coach, the 6-foot-0, 195-pound senior is the total package.

“Adam can run, he’s very elusive,” explained Lansdale (Pa.) North Penn head coach Dick Beck. “He can also throw. He’s got a strong arm, he can throw in the pocket or on the run.”
What areas of improvement could Hearns make in his game? “Well, we don’t run a pro-style offense so he will have to develop some skills,” Coach Beck said. “We’re a run first, pass second offense so I think he will have to develop the skills of reading receivers and defenses.”
Hearns grew up idolizing former Orange quarterback Donovan McNabb and that was one of the main factors why he verbally committed to Syracuse over the summer.
“It’s a great program,” Hearns said of Syracuse after making his decision. “I get to play half my season in the Carrier Dome in perfect conditions and I liked the coaching staff.”
In addition to Syracuse, Hearns had been offered by UConn, Temple and Purdue at the time of his decision. The Orange were the first to offer him a scholarship last April
Hearns has thrown for 735 yards and seven touchdowns, while throwing just one interception this season. He is also starting on defense for North Penn at free safety.
