Syracuse Recruiting Roundup: May 1, 2023

This may be the Syracuse basketball offseason, but the coaching staff is never really off. Here's a look at some of the offers SU has handed out in the last week in our first roundup of May.

Tyler Jackson, a 2025 6-foot-2 Baltimore native, had a breakout sophomore year. He's a natural scorer with an adeptness for changing speeds and can score at all three levels. Jackson spoke about his Syracuse offer with our Charles Kang.

2024 guard Mikey Lewis is a Rivals four-star athlete and the No. 69 overall recruit in his year. Lewis is coming off a Nike EYBL Session where he was named offensive MVP after averaging 25.2 ppg on 53.8 percent shooting from downtown, 4.5 rpg and 3.2 apg. Our Charles Kang spoke with him after he received his Syracuse offer.

2025 guard Darryn Peterson is one of the elite recruits in his class. The Rivals five-star prospect and the No. 4 overall recruit in his class, he holds over two dozen offers, including from Alabama, Kentucky, Ohio State, St. John's, West Virginia and Michigan. He's been described by Rivals as "the best guard in the sophomore class and will physically be ready for college a year from now."

Washington D.C. forward Caleb Williams hasn't entered the Rivals rankings yet for 2024, but expect him to soon. He holds over 20 offers, with Maryland, Michigan, Villanova, Miami, Notre Dame, Virginia, South Florida, Ole Miss among his suitors. The athletic lefty has an adeptness for creating space and utilizing a short range jumper.

Cam Ward is coming off a season where he averaged 25 points per game and 12 rebounds and 4 assists, and his recruitment is starting to take off. Arkansas, Georgetown, Illinois, Virginia Tech, Penn State are among his offers.

2025 forward Sadiq White Jr. is a Rivals four-star prospect and No. 32 overall in his class, and he finished his season with a bang, as he led his Charlotte (NC) Myers Park squad to the NCHSAA 4A state title. His offer list has ballooned to include high-majors Florida State, Georgia, Illinois, LSU, Mississippi State, South Carolina, Texas A&M, Virginia Tech, and Wake Forest, among others.
