Syracuse Recruiting Roundup: May 30, 2023

With the 2023 Rivals Camp Series wrapping up in New Jersey last weekend and the Syracuse coaching staff continuing to offer top prospects from around the country, it was another busy week in the Orange recruiting world.

Let's take a look at the latest in our final roundup of May.

2024 quarterback Evans Chuba has received double digit offers in the month of May, and continues to draw high interest from Syracuse. Chuba came on The Juice on the Cuse Podcast and told us that SU has invited him up to Central New York for an official visit in June.

2025 ATH Cameron Smith is one of the most heavily recruited prospects in New Jersey. The Rivals three-star running back/linebacker holds more than a dozen offers, with Syracuse having offered in early May. Our Andrew Barth spoke with Smith at Rivals Camp last week about his Orange interest.

2025 wide receiver Lyrick Samuel is a fast rising prospect from New York City. Samuel has already received two offers from high-majors Penn State and Syracuse.

He plays at powerhouse Erasmus Hall (NY), which finished the 2022 season 10-2 and a perfect 6-0 in PSAL Class A conference play. He spoke with our Charles Kang about his Orange offer.


2025 ATH Andreus Madison starred at Dillard High, and will play at Florida powerhouse St. Thomas Aquinas this fall. Madison has already collected offers from UAB, Colorado, and Western Michigan, and Syracuse also offered him last week. Our Charles Kang caught up with him to speak about the Orange interest.

2026 wide receiver Dawson Quarterman has been racking up offers recently. The 6-foot-2, 190-pound route runner has elite athleticism, and despite just a rising sophomore, he already holds six offers from UAB, Colorado, Western Michigan, Western Kentucky, Kentucky and Syracuse. He chatted with our Charles Kang about the Orange offer.

2026 ATH Camen Upshaw is one of the most highly recruited freshmen in Florida. He already holds five offers, including Army, FAMU, Middle Tennessee State and Texas A&M. Syracuse offered him last week, the first ACC school to do so. Our Charles Kang spoke to him about the SU interest.

2025 defensive back Remington Moss is one of the top players in his cycle. The Rivals three-star recruit holds roughly two dozen offers, and he added to that growing list earlier in the week when Syracuse extended one to him. Our Charles Kang got the latest on Moss' recruitment from him.

Three-star wide receiver Sage Clawges from St. Thomas More (CT) is one of the top prospects in the northeast. Currently, Clawges boasts an offer sheet that includes Syracuse, Connecticut,, Iowa and Penn State. Our Andrew Barth spoke with Clawges about his recruitment.

Syracuse offered Issiah Walker, one of the top JUCO offensive linemen on Friday, the same week he was formally released from Purdue. He is the 38th-ranked Rivals JUCO prospect in the 2023 cycle. He spoke with our Charles Kang after he received the Orange offer.

Rivals three-star wide receiver Jourdin Houston is a highly sought after recruit from St. Thomas More (CT). The 2025 athlete is closing in on double-digit offers, and already holds offers from high majors Syracuse, Rutgers, Michigan State, Penn State and Boston College. Where does SU stand? He tells our Andrew Barth.

2025 linebacker Josiah Broxton is coming off a standout sophomore season for Florida State (FL) University High. Broxton holds two offers—from Liberty and Syracuse—and speaks with our Charles Kang about his recruitment.

2025 defensive tackle Maurice Adams Jr. is one of the top prospects in his class out of the Sunshine State. Syracuse was the first school to extend him an offer last week, and he speaks with our Charles Kang about it.

2025 wide receiver Giyahni Kontosis is one of the most sought after Maryland prospects. The Rivals three-star athlete already holds double-digit offers as a rising junior, and Syracuse was the latest school to offer him last week. Read more about why he's interested in SU from our Charles Kang.

Rivals three-star ATH Elijah Washington received an offer from Syracuse last week, adding to a double-digit list that also includes high-majors Rutgers, Virginia and West Virginia. He spoke to our Charles Kang about the Orange interest.
