Syracuse Recruiting Roundup: October 16, 2023

There's plenty of news from the Syracuse recruiting world with football at the midway point of its season and basketball about to begin later this month...

One of the fastest rising prospects in Western Pennsylvania is 2025 ATH Mickey Vaccarello. Vaccarello holds offers from Duquesne, Maryland and Boston College, and on Thursday, he added another offer from Syracuse. "I'm super excited for it," he tells The Juice Online.

2026 Cumberland Valley (PA) High ATH Tyler Merrill is rated a four-star prospect and the No. 94 overall recruit in his class by Rivals. He already holds roughly a dozen offers, including Iowa State, Michigan, Nebraska, Ohio State, Penn State, Syracuse and South Carolina, among others. We spoke to him about his recent visit to Central New York.

Xavier Sabb is one of the top 2027 prospects from the Garden State, and the freshman ATH already holds roughly a dozen offers, including from Michigan, Maryland, Syracuse, Ole Miss, Oregon, Penn State and Rutgers. We caught up with Xavier about his recent visit to the Orange.

And to close out this week's roundup, we go to the hardwood. Yahoo! Sports spoke with four-star point guard Kiyan Anthony during the USA Basketball training camp about his recruitment. Anthony, son of Carmelo, goes in depth on Florida State and Syracuse. He will take an official visit to Syracuse from Oct. 20-22.
