Wide receiver Jaylan Hornsby flips from Texas A&M to Syracuse
The Fran Brown era at Syracuse is getting off to a strong start with the flip of receiver Jaylan Hornsby from Texas A&M. The Atco (N.J.) Winslow Township star committed to the Orange during his official visit this weekend. Hornsby had been committed to the Aggies since July.

"It wasn't only the relationship that I have with the coaches, it's the culture that they're bringing to Syracuse," Hornsby said. "It's just different. That whole program is about to turn around in a good way and I want to be a part of that.
"It's only going to go up from here," he said. "Speaking to the other coaches there, they're going to make it more competitive and try to bring the dog out of everybody. Everything is going to be more competitive going forward and that's the best way you could have it.
"I want the other guys to join the wave," said Hornsby. "I know a couple of the other guys already are thinking about it and I'm waiting for them. I really want Yasin (Willis) to come. He's pretty good."
RIVALS' REACTION
Earlier this season it had been rumored that Hornsby was looking around despite his Texas A&M commitment but he held firm on that decision until Elijah Robinson left College Station for Fran Brown's new coaching staff at Syracuse. Brown and Hornsby have had a good relationship but Robinson has been his closest coaching relationship since his recruitment began and that ultimately helped win him over.
Hornsby is a high-ceiling prospect with a basketball background. Even though the receiver missed some time this season, he hauled in 22 catches for 420 yards and eight touchdowns. Hornsby is a raw receiver prospect with natural gifts that any college coach would love to have on their team. He brings size, strength, fairly reliable hands, good straight line speed, and the tools to win in most jump ball scenarios.He'll have a chance to play early in his career at Syracuse so it'l be interesting to see how quickly he develops the finer points of his game.
